Damiana is prescribed
- as aphrodisiac,
- in case of stress,
- to strengthen bladder,
- as laxative tea.
How to use:
You make tea from the flowers and leaves. Even alcoholic extracts are possible, which have got a better efficiency.
For relaxation you chew the leaves.
Description of the plant:
Damiana is perennial but cannot withstand frost. It grows up to 40 cm and needs a sunny to halfshady location. The little shrub lives in Texas and Mexiko.
Damiana doesn´t like to much water. Don´t keep the soil to damp.
Propagation:
Start seeds in spring in pots or flats containing a light weight sterilized soil mix. When the plants are large enough to handle, transplant them to bigger pots.
