Milk thistle is an important tonic herb for the liver.
It is used in case of
- alcoholism,
- hepatitis,
- fatty liver.
Milk thistle supports detoxication of liver, promotes metabolism of liver and gall bladder and supports renewal of liver cells.

How to use:
The seeds are grinted after they have been dried.
Recipe for tea:
Pour 1/4 litre of boiling water on a dessert spoon grinted seeds and wait 20 minutes.
Drink 3 times per day one cup of tea.

Description of the plant:
Milk thistle grows in normal gardensoil and reaches a height up to 2,00 m. The location shoul be sunny to halfshady. Milk thistle is annual. The leaves are painted with veins of creamy white and they are thorny.
Milk thistle blooms from Juli to August.
Propagation:
Start seeds from April to the beginning of Septembre in rows directly in your garden.
Take care that the distance between the seeds is big enough. It should be 40 cm.
Plants which are sowed from July to August overwinter and bloom in the next year.
Ingredients:
Silymarin ( a very good active substance for regeneration of liver), bitter constituents, essential oil, resins.
