Frauenmantel/Lady´s Mantle
Healing power:
- Lady´s Mantle tea is drunken for menopause disorders and - menstrual disorders. The orthodox medicine says, Lady´s Mantle would not help for menopause disorders and women diseases.
But in folk medicine Lady´s mantle is used for - acute diarrhoeas, - stomach and intestine ailments, - lack of appetite, - rheumatism. How to use:
The leaves are picked from April to July and dried.
Recipe for the Lady´s Mantle tea:
Pour 1/8 litre water on 1 dessert spoon lady´s Mantle leaves, boil it only for a short time, let it draw for 15 minutes, then pass it through a sieve. Drink 1 cup of Lady´s Mantle tea 3 times per day.
Side effects are not known. Description of the plant:
Lady´s Mantle grows perennial, reaches a height of 50 cm and is widley branched.
The plant has got little green-yellow flowers. Lady´s Mantle blossoms from May to Septembre. It grows wildly in glades and meadows, but also is cultivated in gardens.
The location should be sunny to halfshady. Propagation:
Sow the seeds in late winter, so that they have to stand the winterhumid. Germination happens very slowly.
If you sow the seeds later in the year, it would be the best to put them with the flats for some weeks in the refrigerator, in order to imitate the winter climate. Ingredients:
Flavonoides, essential oil, tanning agents, bitter constituents.
