How to use: Fruits are used in Chinese medicine. Flowers are used to flavour Chinese tea and the essential oil is used in perfumery.

Description of the plant: Gardenia is an evergreen shrub which reaches a height up to 2m/6ft with dark green, leathery leaves. It succeeds as a house plant if the soil is damp and warm (above 18° C / 65° F). The location should be sunny to halfshady. Gardenia doesn`t love to dry and hot air.
Propagation: Start seeds anytime from late winter to late summer in pots or flats indoors.
